Do an MBA in a day at Venturefest Bristol 2012
An intensive, free, workshop run by Rupert Vernalls
Delegates at Venturefest Bristol 2012 will have the chance to attend a Bite-sized MBA and get valuable insights into business strategy.
Delivered by Rupert Vernalls, founder of Stratology, this all-day workshop will give entrepreneurs and SMEs an overview of the three layers of modern theory in business strategy. Divided into three modules, the course will cover:
- The Industry Layer - how to quickly identify the critical factors for success within an industry
- The Internal Layer - how to analyse the internal resources and capabilities available to a business so that it may exploit those assets in accordance with the opportunities presented to it by its marketplace
- The General Layer – how to interpret changes in the external environment in relative terms, allowing a business to respond to such changes in a manner wholly appropriate to its individual strengths.
“We are delighted that Rupert has been able to make time to come to Venturefest Bristol 2012 in a busy business year which sees him delivering his Bite-sized MBA to companies all over the world,” says Lorelei Hunt, director of Science City Bristol. “This course is hugely valuable to our delegates and proved very popular last year.”
Vernalls has lectured at the US Department of Commerce on doing business in Europe, worked as a module advisor on the Bath MBA and as a Designated Assistant for Course Planning with Harvard Business Online. He holds an MBA from Bath University and is a qualified lawyer with an MSc in Intellectual Property Law. He headed up Osborne Clarke’s intellectual property law practice in Silicon Valley, has a degree in computer science and has worked as a software engineer.
“I am looking forward to delivering the Bite-sized MBA at Venturefest Bristol again this year,” said Vernalls “I always tailor my courses to my audience and have adapted the content specifically for SMEs and entrepreneurs. Last year the feedback event was very positive and the event was over-subscribed.”
There will be 25 spaces available and delegates will be able to apply for a place after registration for Venturefest Bristol 2012 opens on Wednesday 18th July.
