EnModus, the Bristol based next generation home energy management company, has received $1.6m in funding from Andromeda Capital to complete the development of its ground breaking technology and web services.
Wattwave, a powerline communications technology, will power a range of home energy management products, allowing homeowners to monitor and control individual appliances effectively - thus reducing their power consumption by up to 20%.
Design Advisers Huw Robson and Pradeep Sharma have worked closely with enModus to help develop this technology. "Good design has been critical in creating a user interface that delivers complex data presentation in easy form. It's been the power of design that has ensured this technology has caught the eye of the big players" said Huw Robson.
Our Design Advisers were also able to secure a £5000 Innovation Credit from the Creative Industries and Environmental Technology i-Nets South West to assist with designing the system.
Andy Heaton, enModus CEO commented: "The market for home energy management has been around for a while now, but mass market penetration has been stifled by expensive and poorly performing solutions. This hardware should be effectively invisible to the homeowner; it's the web based services that deliver the true value".
